Shearing is an important maintenance activity that will reduce the chance of heat stroke, it keeps the wool from felting on the llama and it makes good use of the llama's fiber.
We bring our equipment to your animal. We have a llama friendly restraint chute that makes the whole ordeal much less stressful for the llama, shearer and owner. We can even bring our own generator for "field work!"
Show Cut - $100
This is a close cropped shearing of the center of the llama with a
"poodle cut" to show off the normal length of fiber.
Utility Cut - $75
An all over hair cut. Normally, ridges from the shears are
left on the llama. When the fiber has grown out these ridges
will even-out with the rest of the fiber length. Good for
those llamas that struggle with the summer heat and humidity.
Barrel Cut - $50
Close cropped shearing of the center of the llama where they sweat
the most. Similar to the show cut, but the ridges produced by
the shears are left. This is a good economical cut that will
provide a lot of heat relief for your llama.
Chute Rental - $35
The portable llama chute (restraint device) makes it much safer for
the llama and handler. It also reduces the need for sedating
the llama. Chute charge is per shearing session regardless as to how
many llamas are shorn.
