So you've noticed that llamas seem to be popping up all over the place. What makes them so popular? Spend a little bit of time on our website and we'll share with you what we think makes our llamas so special.
As you talk to llama owners you will notice that we often refer to them as members of the family, sometimes just simply as people.
Unlike dogs or horses, llamas have no desire to be human. Their behavior is similar to cats, a little aloof and very curious. The llamas' social structure is different from probably any other animal you have known. Adding to the complexity of their world, they view life from the perspective of a prey animal rather than that of a predator, like dogs or cats. Some researchers feel that the intelligence level of the llama approaches that of dolphins.
How can you meet and interact with these amazing creatures in person? If you are in the Central Valley give us a call to arrange for a visit. There is usually someone around the ranch, so we can often handle last minute plans with an hour or two notice, but we prefer if you give us a day or two to prepare for your visit. Kids of all ages and small groups are welcome.
For those of you who cannot come to Turlock, there are llamas throughout the country. Check our information link page to find links to llama ranches in your area. Also check with your local fairgrounds, chances are there is a llama show or two on their schedule.
If you're ready to bring llamas into your life, we have llamas for sale and can help you find what you are looking for from other ranches throughout California. We sell the following;
